In August, Creative announced a USD$31.7 million dollar loss and that revenues have fallen from $165.2 million in the same quarter last year to $139.5 million. It attended two major consumer electronics show, namely the COMEX SHOW in Singapore and the IFA in Berlin. Although it had a small booth in COMEX, business was brisk with many products like the Sound Blaster X-Fi Surround 5.1 sound card and ZEN X-Fi accessories being sold out on the last day. During the IFA, Creative showcase its latest portable media players (ZEN Stone Plus with built-in speakers, ZEN X-Fi & the ZEN Mozaic) and the Vado.
Creative also aggressively expanded its X-Fi family with the release of new X-Fi enabled headsets (HS-1200 and the Fatal1ty USB HS-1000) and X-Fi audio solutions (X-Fi Go! , N400 USB speakers and the Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium range of sound cards). Other product release includes the new EP-430 In-Ear Earphones, a 16GB version of the ZEN Mozaic and 3 new GigaWorks speakers (T3, T20 and T40 Series II).
For the month of September and October, we expect Creative to make a few significant product announcements to build up the momentum for the year end holiday season.
